La concert
In a beautiful autumn day, on the 27th of September 1984, Romania lived one of its most beautiful cultural events:  the first symphonic concert in a cave inside the Carpatian (Transilvanian Alps) mountains, which was enjoied by 660 persons.
Speleologist and guests entered surprised in the cave-hall lightedwith candles, lamps and projectors. After resonant success of the concert, every year are organized symphonic concerts, thanks to mr. Lupu Constantin, and cultural authorities. Romania is one of the few countries where the speleo concerts are organized. In the last 22 concerts, we have lived unforgetable moments listening pieces from:W. A. Mozart, D. Sostacovici, B. Marcello, A. Vivaldi si G. Enescu.
The concerts were presented by different performers, like Campania Brass from Italy, Wienner Symphonic Orchestra, Royal Danish Symphonic Orchestra, " The BanatPhilharmonic " from Timisoara, The State Philharmonic from Arad, Music University Symphonic Orchestra from Timisoara and the Orchestra of  "Ion Vidu" High School.  Among the enumerated orchestras, solists , conductors have contributed to the success of these concerts. This year will be invited Novi Sad Symphonic Orchestra with choir! Free entrance!

Some details about the concert from Românesti cave. The first geologicaland natural research was made by geographer T. Orthmayr in 1872. The cave is situated SE of Romanesti village in Poiana Rusca mountains. It is includedin the category of large caves,  with 1050m length and it is disposedin 3 levels. The entrance is oriented N-NW, it's 9.5m large and 2m high, the natural light enters 70m deep. In this zone the wall of the cave is covered by green alga.
One day every year, the cave "wakes up". Performers, guests, tourists and organizers carrying instruments and equipment walk 1 hour from Romanesti village to the cave. The cave has a good acoustic; this reflects the success of these eighteen concerts.
We invite you to this unique concert; we offer you the possibility to participate at this important cultural event. You can visit other beautiful places around Romanesti village, (the museum from Traian Vuia village, the Surduc lake, the Liman valley, the Pades Peek), and of course Arad and Timisoara.
